12 residents of Baun Bango Village, Kamipang District, Katingan Regency, participated in training held by Baun Bango Village Government in collaboration with Katingan Mentaya Project, Saturday (5/06/2021).

This training was held at the village hall, Regional Coordinator of Katingan Mentaya Project, Suandri said that the sewing training for the village residents would be held for 20 days. He also explained that this training was advanced training for participants implemented through cooperation agreement between the project and Baun Bango Village. "The funding for this activity comes from the project’s empowerment program fund, previously in 2020 a similar training was held for the same participants," added Suandri.

The first stage of training provided basic sewing training while the second stage of training focused on advanced sewing techniques. The participants were taught the cutting cloth technique, the technique of using manual and electric sewing machine, the technique of making and sewing clothes (shirt, pants) and mask. In addition, the participants also receive pocket money from Village Government and will be granted sewing machines.

The idea for holding this sewing training comes by considering that Baun Bango Village Government nearly every year procures uniforms for staff and others, which so far it has to place order to tailors in Kasongan or Palangkaraya.
