According to him, this family medicinal plant planting activity has only been running this year, involving around 30 local village members. "Especially during today pandemic, hopefully we can maintain our body's immunity by consuming this family medicinal plant as it is free of chemicals and without side effects," said Saiful.
He explained that the types of family medicinal plants planted include black turmeric, red ginger, tamarind eggplant, kencur, temulawak, galangal, celery, eggplant, lamba onion, jasmine, mother-in-law's tongue, cathedral bells and other types of herbal plants. This family medicinal plant will add aesthetic value if it is neatly arranged, by utilizing the house yard environment, and if managed properly, it will be able to make additional income for the family.
"This hopefully will also be beneficial for the local community, whether as traditional medicine to prevent or treat various diseases or as complementary seasoning for cooking," he added. "This activity we held in addition to using ADD (Village Fund Allocation) fund, the women group also received support Katingan Mentaya Project" stated Saiful.
