Support the health and safety of its employees, KMP conducts periodic medical check-ups.

Served as a Forest Prevention and Control (PPH) team, they will certainly always be at the forefront of forest / land fires. What conditions do they face? They wrestle in the woods facing fire while carrying hoses, wearing complete personal protective equipment that is heavy and overcrowded, while continuing to move towards the location of the fire and trying hard to push and pull various kinds of equipment, interspersed with shouts of mutual support for one another to be able to withstand tension and unbearable heat. Fire fighters are also faced with critical events where there are often large or uncertain fire hazards. Their work is at high risk, and the threat of respiratory disease can even end up life threatening. Exposure to a serious traumatic event (or the consequences of that event) is another risk.

To support health, safety and security when staff in the field work, the Katingan Mentaya Project requires all staff in the field, especially those who have been directly exposed to smoke and blackouts to carry out comprehensive health checks.

The inspections are carried out every year and as soon as possible after the dry season (where the risk of fire is high in this season) ends.
