Katingan Mentaya Project helped the rehabilitation of school class room in Baun Bango Village.
"The budget that we use for the rehabilitation comes from village funds and support from Katingan Mentaya Project” said Acting Head of Baun Bango Village, Saiful Ahmad. According to him, the school building in his village area is old, so many parts of the building are damaged thus they can no longer be used for teaching and learning activities and must be repaired immediately. "This self-managed rehabilitation took about 3 months by involving local residents," added Saiful.

Now, after the renovations have been completed, the school building can be used by students for learning activities. "There are 50 students and 3 teachers who teach here” he explained. Meanwhile, Regional Coordinator of Katingan Mentaya Project, Suandri said that the cooperation between the project and Baun Bango Village Government had been well established.
"Our cooperation is quite good, the implementation of various activities in Baun Bango Village always runs smoothly and in accordance with the cooperation agreement both in terms of time and results," he said. He ensures that every activity carried out has been in synergy through the process of involving and empowering the local community. "There are several activities that can be collaborated with the village, such as in the fields of education, health and infrastructure, however Baun Bango Village focuses more on its human resources improvement," said Suandri.
